PREPARE THE SURFACE
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEGINNING WITH A PERFECT SURFACE
Although Cottage Paint requires little effort and can be applied on many different surfaces, there are still a few steps to follow in order to guarantee pristine results.
- Get rid of any contaminants. Sometimes, cleaning is not enough. There are waxes, oils, or other agents on it that will require special products to be eliminated. Find everything you need to clean, prepare, and correct different surfaces here.
- Remember not to paint over any surface until it is completely dry after the cleaning process and free of other contaminants.
- Some surfaces will require a primer, especially wood. These products will avoid future cracking and discolouring.
- If you need to fix any imperfections on the surface, this is the perfect time to do so. Any bumps or cracks will be visible through Cottage Paint.
- Please run some tests. Paint a small area and let it dry. Are you loving the colour and finish? Then feel free to keep painting and complete your work!
